Double Weave: A Primer

Double the Warp! Double the Headles! Double the Time!
But most of all DOUBLE THE FUN!!

As with all workshops at JST our goal is to make sure each student goes home with a sound understanding of the structures that we are studying. Double Weave is easy when you understand how it works. Double Weave can be extremely creative when you think outside the box. During this 5 day retreat, we look at horizontal joins, weaving fabrics that are double width with staggering layers and create double faced fabrics on 4 and 8 shafts. We will stuff pockets and learn to control colour in 2 block Double Weave and we will explore the architectural possibilities of this weave structure.

The samples are inspirational, colourful and dynamic.
